ABOUT

Janell Carla Williams is a 2x Distinguished Toastmaster currently serving as the District 1 Program Quality Director. In her professional career, she has spent 27+ years in the Entertainment Industry Managing Global Events and Onsale Operations, working with and leading international teams as both contributor and manager utilizing Agile & Scrum methodologies. She currently serves as a software engineer in Quality Assurance.

Janell is passionate about people. She enjoys working to support others, helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals. Her passion for emerging technologies has helped her to be a part of the pioneer team for District 1 virtual events and a go to resource both in and out of the district.

As your next District Director, Janell promises to invest in your growth through our educational and leadership program, supporting every member and club to be successful. She looks forward to working with our Program Quality Director,

Club Growth Director, and District Executive Committee to continue to rebuild our clubs, reinvigorating our members and clubs to take advantage of new opportunities and ensuring their needs are met.

LEADERSHIP & SERVICE HIGHLIGHTS

During her tenure as a Toastmaster, Janell has had the privilege to serve as a Judge, Club Coach, Club Mentor, Youth Leadership Coordinator, and serve in every Club Officer Role. She has also had the opportunity to chair and serve as a volunteer on many committees to support our district.

July 2021 - present

PROGRAM QUALITY DIRECTOR

Responsible for all aspects of education and training within the District. This includes supporting quality club programming efforts, promoting the Distinguished Club Program, and planning and executing the District conference.

July 2020 - June 2021

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Responsible for coordinating a public relations and publicity program in the district. By establishing and maintaining lines of communication between the district and its clubs, as well as between the district and the public. Increasing awareness of Toastmasters through local news media and social media.

ZOOMMASTER / G-SUITE ADMINISTRATOR

Responsible for managing and administering the District Zoom accounts scheduling District events and club meetings and support users with their meeting needs. G-Suite Administrator responsible for managing district email accounts, monitoring systems and assisting users with trouble shooting.

DIVISION F DIRECTOR

Lead and support the Division through the supervision and support of the Area Directors. One of the primary goals as Division Director is to ensure that each club achieves its mission and fulfills its responsibilities to its members. Coordinating Division activities, set Division goals, and assist in the training of Area and club leaders.

AREA F6 DIRECTOR

Serve as the direct liaison between the District and the clubs. Area Directors conduct club visits twice a year within their respective areas to understand and support club needs and help District leaders understand how to support and meet the needs of each club.

EVENT PRODUCTION (VIRTUAL / IN PERSON)

Producing District and District Leader Training events on Zoom. Producing in person events ranging from the International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference, Lula Washington Dance Theater Ticketing, LACHSA Arts Gala, Dance Events, & More. Responsible for planning, commitee coordination and onsite day of show/event management
